My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) is a Florida Department of Financial Services program that provides grants to qualifying homeowners for wind-mitigation improvements, including impact-rated windows and doors. Program rules and available funding change by cycle — the figures below reflect the current HB 811 cycle.
Up to $10,000
Moderate-income homeowners are matched 2:1 by the state, up to a $10,000 state contribution — a $15,000 project gets you the full amount.
No match for low-income
Homeowners at or below 80% of their county's median income can receive up to $10,000 without contributing matching funds.
$700,000 insured value cap
Under HB 811, homes insured up to $700,000 qualify — low-income homeowners are exempt from this cap.

- Is Stonewater the one who approves my grant?
- No — My Safe Florida Home is a state program administered by the Florida Department of Financial Services, not by Stonewater. We act as your contractor: we help you understand eligibility, install to program standards, and handle paperwork on our end. Final approval and disbursement come from the state.
- Is my home eligible?
- Eligibility depends on your home's insured value, your homestead status, and — under the current HB 811 cycle — your household income. We'll go through the specifics with you directly, since program rules and funding availability change from cycle to cycle.
- Do I have to pay anything upfront?
- Moderate-income homeowners generally need to cover their share of the 2:1 match; low-income homeowners may not need to contribute matching funds at all. We'll help you understand what your specific project would require.
- What if the grant program is out of funding when I apply?
- State grant programs like this one open and close funding cycles based on legislative appropriations. If a cycle is closed or waitlisted when you're ready, we'll still get your impact windows installed — you just may need to wait for the next funding round to apply for reimbursement.
